See clearly
Optometry
Studies have shown that better vision leads to better action. When we can clearly see the good in the world, our quality of life improves and we are more likely to act in ways that benefit those around us. In other words—when we see what’s good, we do what’s good. Our experienced optometrist, Shaune Wallace, provides eye exams and vision tests to protect your eyes and enable you to see the world with clarity so that you can bring an abundance of goodness to those around you.

About the optometrists
Dr. Shaune Wallace
Dr. Wallace was born and raised in Canada. He moved to the United States in 2000 to attend BYU, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Zoology in 2002. Dr. Wallace received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2006. Since then, he has pursued a career of personal and professional growth, accruing experience in medical and retail oriented practices.
Dr. Wallace and his family moved to Elko in 2020 to join our community and become the new owner of our practice, where he will be providing every patient with the professional and individual care they deserve.
When Dr. Wallace is not providing optometry services to the community, he enjoys spending time with his family, working on his 3D printing hobby, hiking, wakesurfing, woodworking, serving in his church, and watching his children play in local sports.
Dr. Lincoln Bangerter
Dr. Bangerter brings a wealth of expertise and a compassionate approach to Focus Eye Care. After earning a bachelor's degree in Biostatistics from Brigham Young University, he pursued a Doctor of Optometry from Ohio State University. While rotating through the Salt Lake Veterans Hospital and practices throughout rural Ohio and New Mexico, Dr. Bangerter developed a passion for managing ocular diseases: severe dry eye, keratoconus, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
Dr. Bangerter has a particular affinity for working with children, often providing them with their first pair of glasses, and specializing in amblyopia and myopia management. He also enjoys fitting specialty contact lenses, improving patients' lives and vision glasses can’t solve the problem.
After arriving at Focus Eye Care in 2024 Dr. Bangerter has quickly inserted himself into the Elko community. He loves talking with patients - in English or Spanish - about their lives, interests, and concerns both personal and communal. With his wife and three children, the Bangerters are proud to call Elko home!

Lab Manager
Tom was raised in Elko and is currently raising a family of his own. He graduated from Spring Creek High School in 2006 and started working in the lab at Speedy Specs in April 2007. He’s been here ever since.
Growing up, he enjoyed creating with his hands and understanding how things work. What drew him to optics was learning about the machinery used to manufacture glasses, the engineering involved, and watching a patient's eyes light up when they could see again. He wanted to learn and know more, so he began attending college in the fall of 2007 at CSN (College of Southern Nevada). He received an Associate's of Applied Science degree in Ophthalmic Technology in 2010. He passed his ABO and NCLE certifications on the same day in 2009. In the fall of 2011, he passed his Opticians License Exam with the highest score out of his testing class. In 2011, he helped to successfully move the lab and practice to our current location on Mountain City Highway. In 2018, we threw out the old, conventional way of making glasses and upgraded to free form digital lens processing. Tom has not looked back and continually looks for ways to bring the best optical technology to Elko.
Tom is married with two children. He enjoys a good book, movie, or video game, and going for neighborhood walks and bike rides with his family. His family loves a good road trip and exploring the local area or surrounding areas. They are big foodies and enjoy a good restaurant they have not tried before. When the weather is warm, they like to challenge themselves with a hiking trail. They are active members at their local church.

Optical Tech
Logan grew up in Bullhead City, Arizona, but moved to Spring Creek when his father landed permanent employment at one of the local mines. His first winter here was the first time he ever had to deal with snow!
He started working for Focus Eye Care and Optical Lab because his friend and former Focus employee, Trevor, talked to him about the job and he found it quite intriguing. After being hired, the job was more than intriguing—it was fun and exciting. He thoroughly enjoys the production of prescription lenses, and fixing the machines that make them.
Outside of work, Logan likes to play video games with his friends online. He’ll occasionally get together with the whole family, and play with his eight nieces and nephews. He also enjoys watching movies.

Optical Tech
Austin was born in Anaheim, CA, and raised in Reno. He later moved to Elko with his parents to help start Calvary Chapel Spring Creek.
He joined Focus because he understands the need for glasses, and how being able to see means a world of difference for people. Needing glasses himself, he loves being able to make the glasses that put a smile on people’s faces, allowing them to live better lives.
Austin is a family-oriented man with a loving wife and a little boy. He loves to fish, play a video game when he can, and experience new and fun things to do with his family!
